NEW DELHI: Royal Challengers Bengaluru unleashed absolute carnage on the Gujarat Titans bowling attack in the high-voltage IPL 2026 Qualifier 1 clash at the picturesque Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Tuesday.
Asked to bat first, the defending champions piled up a massive 254/5 in their allotted 20 overs — the highest total ever recorded in IPL playoff history.
RCB’s 254/5 surpassed the previous record of 233/3 set by Gujarat Titans against Mumbai Indians during Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad in the 2023 season.
Leading the charge was RCB captain Rajat Patidar, who produced a sensational unbeaten knock of 93 off just 33 deliveries. His explosive innings included five fours and nine towering sixes as he tore apart the GT attack.
Apart from Patidar, Virat Kohli played an aggressive hand of 43 off 25 balls, while Krunal Pandya chipped in with a crucial 43 off 28 deliveries to power RCB to the record-breaking total.
